Second Phase of the Displaced Families Relocation Project Begins at the East Hamad Shelter Centre

As part of ongoing efforts to relocate displaced families living along the seashore, AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association has launched the second phase of work at the East Hamad Shelter Centre in Khan Younis Governorate.
This phase involves the participation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which is responsible for levelling and preparing the internal and secondary roads within the site. These works aim to facilitate the movement of families, field teams, and vehicles and improve access to the shelter centre’s various facilities.
Field activities are progressing at an accelerated pace to complete all required preparations and ready the site to receive displaced families, contributing to a safer, better-organized, and more stable shelter environment.
This intervention is being implemented with contributions from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), and Qatari aid.
Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association appreciates the contributions of all partners and emphasizes that coordinated and integrated efforts are essential to completing the project’s remaining phases, meeting the needs of displaced families, and improving their shelter conditions while protecting their safety and dignity.
