AlFajr and OCHA Discuss an Urgent Response to Protect Displaced Families Along the Seashore
2025/12/25
AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association held a consultative meeting with representatives of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) as part of joint efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response for displaced families living along the seashore.
The meeting followed a field visit to assess the families’ conditions and the risks resulting from the proximity of their tents to the sea, including potential damage caused by high waves and seawater flooding, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
During the meeting, both parties discussed priority humanitarian needs, urgent intervention options, and mechanisms for coordinating efforts with relevant authorities and humanitarian partners. These efforts aim to provide safer shelter solutions and essential assistance to affected families.
The meeting also addressed the development of an immediate response plan to protect at-risk families, meet their urgent needs, and improve their shelter conditions in a manner that safeguards their safety and dignity.
Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and coordination with OCHA and all partners to accelerate the response, reach the families most exposed to risks, and provide them with the necessary assistance.
