AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association received a team from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), represented by Ms. Susanna and Mr. Taher, during an inspection visit to Al-Fajr Camp, also known as “Qatar Camp,” located east of Hamad City in Khan Younis Governorate.

The visit was attended by representatives of the supporting partners: the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), the Arab International Commission for Reconstruction in Palestine, and the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza.

The visiting delegation reviewed the progress of operations and the services provided within the camp. It also assessed the conditions of families relocated by Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association from the seashore and provided with shelter inside the camp as part of the urgent humanitarian response to protect them from risks associated with adverse weather conditions and seawater flooding.

The delegation listened directly to residents to better understand their circumstances and identify their priority humanitarian and service needs. This will support engagement with the relevant authorities and humanitarian partners and help mobilize available assistance to address these needs and improve shelter and living conditions within the camp.

AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation with OCHA and supporting partners to strengthen the humanitarian response, provide displaced families with essential assistance, and preserve their dignity.
