OCHA Delegation Visits Al-Matahin Shelter Centre and Supports Education Initiatives in Khan Younis

AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association welcomed the Head of OCHA in the Gaza Strip, Mr. Taher, accompanied by Ms. Gloria and Mr. Anas Hallas, during a field visit to Al-Matahin Shelter Centre.
The visit provided an opportunity to assess the humanitarian conditions and priority needs of displaced families living at the centre and to discuss ways of strengthening humanitarian interventions and improving the provision of essential services.
The delegation also reviewed efforts to rehabilitate two existing schools: Al-Manar School in Al-Mawasi, Al-Qarara, and Amjad School in Al-Satar Al-Gharbi. The visit also included the inauguration of Al-Noor School at Al-Matahin Shelter Centre.
These educational initiatives aim to support the continuity of learning and provide children with safe and appropriate educational spaces amid the significant challenges facing the education sector in the Gaza Strip.
During the visit, Mr. Taher reaffirmed his support for the Palestinian people and stressed the importance of continuing humanitarian assistance and intensifying efforts to meet the growing needs of affected and displaced families, strengthen their resilience, and preserve their dignity.
Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association expressed its appreciation for the visit and emphasised the importance of continued coordination with United Nations agencies, humanitarian organisations, and local partners to strengthen the humanitarian response, particularly in the shelter and education sectors.
