First Batch of Tents Prepared at the East Hamad Shelter Centre Ahead of Relocating 100 Displaced Families
2025/12/09
AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association, with the support and joint efforts of all partners, has completed the preparation of the first batch of tents at the East Hamad Shelter Centre as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to provide safer and more stable accommodation for displaced families living along the seashore.
This step followed field monitoring and assessments conducted by the Shelter Site Management team to evaluate families’ conditions, identify their needs and priorities, and ensure that the relocation process is organized in accordance with the approved field arrangements.
The relocation of 100 displaced families currently living along the seashore, in the area extending from Al-Hayya Street to the Al-Qarara Port breakwater, is scheduled to begin tomorrow. The families will be transferred to the newly prepared tents within the shelter centre.
This response comes amid the difficult conditions and risks faced by families living near the sea and forms part of ongoing efforts to improve their shelter conditions and provide a safer environment that preserves their dignity.
AlFajr Palestinian Youth Association appreciates the efforts of all partners and field teams contributing to the preparation of the centre. The Association reaffirms its commitment to completing the remaining batches and expanding the response to meet the needs of more displaced families.
