Project Details

As part of the emergency humanitarian response, Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association (FPYA) is continuing its efforts to prepare the West Al-Matahen Shelter Site, with the aim of providing safe and appropriate shelter for families whose tents along the coastline were flooded as a result of the prevailing severe weather conditions.

The preparation works are being carried out in coordination with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), with support from the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), the Arab International Organization for Construction in Palestine (AIOCP), and the Beit Lahia Development Association (BLDA).

This intervention responds to the urgent humanitarian needs of affected families, particularly those whose tents have become uninhabitable. It aims to protect them from risks associated with heavy rainfall, cold weather, and rising sea waves, while ensuring safer and more dignified shelter conditions.

Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association reaffirms its commitment to continuing its humanitarian efforts, in cooperation with local and international partners, to alleviate the suffering of affected and displaced families and respond to their essential needs amid the extremely difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
